Prenatal

During the prenatal period, I provide support in the form of:

  • Unlimited phone, text, & email support from date of hire.

  • Access to my lending library & list of online & evidence-based resources.

  • 1 or more prenatal visits:

We will meet at least twice* during the prenatal period (*or just once if you choose the abbreviated package.) These sessions will give us a chance to form a relationship and talk through your birthing options and preferences. Our appointments will be collaborative and educational in nature. Spoiler alert: we’ll probably have a lot of fun. Partner(s) who will be present at the birth are encouraged to attend.

Labor & Birth

Once in labor, I show up when you feel the time is right. Sometimes laboring people only want their doula to come once they’re in very active labor, others will ask that I show up to their home to support them as they labor before they head to the hospital or birth center. I show up when you ask because I trust that you know when you’re ready to be supported & this is a great time to practice the skill of knowing when to ask for support—a skill so vital for new parents!
Once at your birth, I provide:

  • Physical comfort measures (everything from helping your into comfortable positions that are optimal for you & baby, use of rebozo or my TENS unit, heat & cold therapy, massage, counter-pressure, & acupressure, help with comfortably initiating aquatherapy, etc.)

  • Help facilitate a calm, high-oxytocin, low-adrenaline environment that supports physiologic birth & recovery. Oh, yes, whether at home or in the hospital, we can do that!

  • Support to your partner(s) and help them stay engaged and support you effectively.

  • Emotional support

  • Help facilitate conversation between you & your chosen care providers & help you translate medical jargon

  • Help you discover ways to find joy and, dare I say, pleasure in your birthing experience

  • Take photos and/or document a timeline of your labor journey and birth if desired.

Postpartum

After your birth experience, I remain a continuous support. I will come check on you and your family twice (at least, depending on the package of support that you choose) as you settle into your ‘fourth trimester.’ During this postpartum time, I’ll be around to help answer (and find resources to support) any questions you may have about your new baby or your healing body. I’ll support you as you:

  • Establish feeding

  • Reflect on your birth (if you choose) as you integrate that momentous and powerful experience

  • Find practical and accessible ways to promote your healing and nourish your body, that suits you & your growing family

This time is yours and is tailored to the unique needs and desires of you and your family.
